Savva Libkin, a famous Jewish restaurateur from Odessa, made an emotional appeal to Ukrainians.
He called for abandoning mutual accusations on social networks and uniting for a common goal – the victory of Ukraine.
“If you go to social networks, you will see that every second publication is devoted to accusations.
Traveled abroad guilty of betraying their country. Remaining are guilty of not caring about the safety of their children. Donating are guilty of not donating enough. Those, who speaks Russian or spoke it before, are to blame for the start of the war.
And so on. It is not for nothing that the words “accusations” and “guilt” have common roots. “The one who blames others is subconsciously trying to get rid of his own feelings of guilt by shifting it onto someone else,” the restaurateur wrote.
Libkin is also known for his tough response to the statement of Russian businessman Artemy Lebedev, who in an interview expressed a desire to “open a direct flight from Moscow to Odessa in order to visit his restaurants.”
“You won’t see Odessa. Sit in Moscow and suck Moscow x… from Putin.”
This statement caused a heated discussion on social networks, becoming a symbol of Libkin’s firm position towards Russia and its citizens who support aggression. We wrote about this – The famous Odessa chef Savva Libkin, who sharply besieged the Putinist Lebedev “Sit in Moscow, suck Putin’s Moscow dick and that’s it,” shared a recipe for Odessa-style shakshuka

Appeal to Ukrainians: refusal of accusations
On your page in Facebook Savva Libkin emotionally called on Ukrainians to abandon mutual accusations, which, in his opinion, only deepen the split in society.
Quote:
“Guilt is, in my opinion, a destructive emotion. It has been instilled in us since childhood by our parents, then by our wives or husbands. It's a handy tool to manipulate, but it often doesn't work the way the person using it would like. And instead of an adequate child or partner, you may get a complex person who constantly doubts himself and blames himself for something. The state and society also use this tool and do it too persistently,” the publication says.
Key points of the appeal
- Accusations on social networks:
- Those who went abroad are accused of treason.
- Those who remain lack sufficient concern for safety.
- Those who donate – because they don’t do it “enough.”
- People who speak Russian are blamed for starting the war.
- Consequences of such accusations:
- Increasing division in society.
- Guilt manipulation that makes people less self-confident.
- Libkin's call:
- Act not out of guilt, but out of a sincere desire to help.
- Unite for victory, and not label each other.
- Do everything possible for the common result.
“Any help should not be a sacrifice. You need to do it for the sake of the result, and not in order to appease your conscience. Don't put labels on others, don't try to divide society even more than it is divided now. Let us unite and do what we can together. Do it out of a sense of duty, and not out of guilt,” the man emphasized.
What unites Ukrainians and Israelis?
Libkin's appeal can be linked to the experience of the Israelis, who, despite constant challenges, maintain unity and solidarity. Israel has experienced many difficulties, but the cohesion of society has been a key factor in its survival and development.
Savva Libkin invites Ukrainians to follow this example:
- Don't be divided because of differences.
- Working together for a common goal.
Table: Libkin's main theses
| Thesis | Description |
|---|---|
| Guilt is destructive | It weakens people, causing complexes and self-doubt. |
| Accusations divide society | People who blame others shift their blame, creating division. |
| Actions for victory | Help and support should be sincere and not imposed by feelings of guilt. |
| Example of unification – Israel | Israelis succeed by remaining united even in difficult times. |
