Sweden is preparing for a conflict with Russia – the beginning of a new Northern War.

Sweden is actively preparing for a possible invasion from Russia, as outlined in the country's new Ministry of Defense strategy. Defense Minister Paul Johnson has announced plans to increase defense spending to 2.4% of GDP to respond to the threat of Russian aggression. He also noted that Russia is the main threat not only to Sweden, but also to NATO. Although Russian troops face difficulties in Ukraine, Sweden believes the Kremlin may resort to military and political risks.

“Russia’s freedom of action is limited, but we cannot relax,” Yonson emphasized.

Increasing defense spending will help strengthen Sweden's civil defense and prepare for various military threats. German Federal Intelligence Service Bruno Kahl also warns of a possible direct military threat from Russia to Germany. He predicts the possibility of a major war between Russia and NATO by 2030.
