On August 24, 2024, the Ramat Gan stadium hosted the charity festival “Khutir Nezalezhnosti 2024“, dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of Ukraine's independence.

The event took place from 17:00 to 23:00 at the Ramat Gan Stadium, 299 Ramat Gan St., Ramat Gan, Israel. As reported by “Details“, it was attended by more than 3000 volunteers, participants and guests from Israel and Ukraine.

The festival was organized by the non-profit organization “Israeli friends of Ukraine“, with the support of Ukrainian Embassies in Israel«Ukrainian-Israeli meeting“, local patrons and businessmen.

The organization “Israeli Friends of Ukraine” has existed for 10 years and unites people who did not remain indifferent when Russia started the war in eastern Ukraine and occupied Crimea. It continues to help Ukrainians and Ukraine.

The festival became an event of solidarity and support, the aim of which was to raise funds for an ambulance for Ukraine and a batch of dry showers for soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces.

The event was held under the motto “Ukraine and Israel together!“, demonstrating the unity of the two countries in confronting common enemies and threats. As the organizers note,

“This year we decided to unite the efforts of the Ukrainian-Israeli community in Israel and hold the Independence Farm under the name “Ukraine and Israel Together!” This year is also special because we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of our organization “Israeli Friends of Ukraine.”

This year, the organizers decided to combine three formats in one place: a picnic on Independence Day, Ethno Khutor, and a concert by the Vopli Vodoplyasova group. As the organizers explained,

“That’s why we decided to combine three favorite formats at once: a picnic on Independence Day, Ethno Khutor, and a concert by the famous Ukrainian band Vopli Vidopliassova — a concentrate of all our favorite events in one place.”

The festival featured performances by DJ Karina Ram, the groups Brus-Li Band and From Scratch, the Ukrainian singer KOLA and the group VV led by Oleg Skripka.

Also shown at the event was a teaser for the film “Beyond the Borders,” which includes more than 30 interviews with volunteers, diplomats, politicians, businessmen, and public figures.

Anna Zharova, co-founder of the organization “Israeli Friends of Ukraine”, emphasized that “This film emphasizes the importance of the connection and the similarity of the fates of Israel and Ukraine, fighting against terrorists, this film focuses on the incredible support of ordinary people: Israelis and Ukrainians.”

She added that “the film’s heroes were present in the audience, and this is further proof of the cohesion of our community and that help can take many forms, and all of them are important.”

The festival “Khutyr Nezalezhnosti” is a significant event that illustrates the importance of international solidarity and cooperation.
