A Ukrainian delegation of four high-ranking National Police officers, led by General Oleksandr Fatsevych, Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine, arrived in Israel on an official working visit as part of international cooperation.

On May 15, Ukrainian police officers visited Mount Meron, where the large-scale Lag BaOmer celebration takes place. The purpose of the visit was to familiarize themselves with the system of mass event security organized by the Israel Police.

Israeli colleagues demonstrated tactical and operational preparations for hosting tens of thousands of participants. The Ukrainian officers studied coordination systems, video surveillance, emergency response, cooperation with medical services, and evacuation procedures.

The Ukrainian delegation reviewed the preparations of the local police for the Mount Meron celebration in order to apply the Israeli methods in Uman during the Hasidic pilgrimage for Rosh Hashanah.

The delegation also visited the Tel Aviv District Police Headquarters to learn about best practices in urban public safety enforcement.

Who is Oleksandr Fatsevych

Oleksandr Yuriyovych Fatsevych (born September 25, 1986) is a Police General of the 3rd Rank and Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine.

In addition to his administrative role, he has real combat experience. Fatsevych participated in:

  • Ilovaisk encirclement,
  • Battle of Debaltseve,
  • Battle of Vuhlehirsk,
  • Battle for Lyman,
  • Liberation of Irpin in 2022.

He has received the following awards:

Every autumn, the Ukrainian city of Uman hosts tens of thousands of Hasidic pilgrims from around the world. The main goal of the visit was to adopt practical security methods and adapt them to Ukrainian realities to ensure the safety of pilgrims.
