Spring in Israel promises to be especially fun and touching — the Ukrainian comedy “Pesyky” is coming to the big screen, already causing a stir in Ukraine. The screenings in Israel will take place in Haifa, Tel Aviv, and Ashdod.

This is not just a movie, but a cultural bridge between Ukraine and Israel, between the Jewish and Ukrainian peoples.

Plot: Romance, Comedy, and a Curse

The heroine of the film, Yana, is a self-centered career woman who suddenly gains a supernatural ability: every man she sleeps with turns into a dog. Some become poodles, others bulldogs, and some, pekingese. All the dogs adore Yana and never leave her, but how does one live with such a “dog army”?

The film combines light humor, elements of fantasy, and an ironic view of gender relationships in modern society.

Director — Alexey Yesakov (debut in feature films). Filming began in September and finished on November 7, 2024. The first director was Dmitry Gumbertsky, but he was replaced due to creative differences. The filming team numbered more than 60 people, with locations in Kyiv and surrounding areas.

Dogs are Stars Too

Over 100 dogs were involved in the filming — trained and rescued from the Gostomel shelter. Each character had a dog “double” chosen for their appearance and temperament. Among the four-legged actors:

• Therapy dog Vatrushka
• Drakosha and Bully
