On September 4, 2024, Ukraine successfully evacuated 25 Ukrainians and one Czech citizen from Lebanon. Among those evacuated were 11 children and 14 adults. Heorhiy Tykhyi, spokesman for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, confirmed this information.

The evacuated Ukrainians and the Czech arrived in Poland, where they are receiving all the necessary assistance before being sent to Ukraine. Tykhyi expressed gratitude to his colleagues from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense and SkyUp Airlines for the successful operation.

Ukraine promises to continue to help its citizens in Lebanon, and the Ukrainian embassy there remains in touch with those in need of evacuation. Ukrainian citizens in Lebanon who need assistance can contact the embassy or the MFA hotline.

“The evacuation of our people from the Middle East, from Lebanon, continued. 11 children, 14 adults are already safe. Our diplomats and intelligence will continue to help. All Ukrainians in the region who need it can contact our diplomatic institutions in the Middle East and receive all the help,” reported Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his evening address.

“Ukraine was one of the first countries in the world to successfully evacuate its citizens from Lebanon. As in previous cases of crises and armed conflicts abroad, Ukraine is demonstrating leadership in caring for its people,” the GUR noted.
