Today, on the third anniversary of the onset of the aggression, we say to Ukraine: You will win!
The spirit you demonstrated in the early days of the war has endured to this day. We believe that despite all the terrible trials, Ukraine will recover, become even stronger, and the aggressor will be punished.
We, on the side of justice, wish Ukraine victory, the liberation of all occupied territories, and peace. May Ukraine remain free and independent, and may its people forever remain a living symbol of resilience, courage, and love for their homeland.
On February 24, 2025, Ukraine and the entire world celebrate the third anniversary of the start of the full-scale aggression by Putin’s Russia against Ukraine. This day became a turning point that fundamentally changed the lives of millions of people. It is not just a date, but a symbol of heroism, resilience, and the unyielding will of the Ukrainian people. We must remember that on this very day, the battle for freedom and independence began, in which Ukrainians showed incredible courage, never forgetting their high moral values and the great goal – to protect their country, their people, and their future.
1. The Beginning of the War: Russian Aggression and Ukrainian Resistance
When, on February 24, 2022, Putin’s Russia launched a full-scale invasion, the world was shocked. Moscow expected a lightning-fast conquest of Ukraine, but instead, an army of courage and determination stood in its way. City after city, Ukrainians took to the defense, fighting not only against the military forces but also against aggressive propaganda, striving to preserve their identity, sovereignty, and freedom.
Despite massive strikes and attempts to capture key targets and cities, the Ukrainian people did not surrender. It was not just a war—it was a battle for survival, for the right to be free. In the early days of the war, Ukrainians showed the entire world that the spirit of the nation is unbreakable, and that the strength of will, unity, and determination can repel even the most powerful armies.
2. The Contribution of Jews to the Struggle for Ukraine: Examples of Heroism
Like all other Ukrainians, the Jews of Ukraine stood up to defend their homeland with equal determination and courage. From the very beginning of the war, Ukrainian Jews actively participated in the defense of their country. They joined the military, volunteer organizations, and became an important part of the resistance.
Moshe Reuven Asman, the Chief Rabbi of Ukraine, became a symbol of patriotism and courage displayed by Ukrainians of Jewish origin. From the very first days of the invasion, he actively organized humanitarian aid and ensured the safety of Jewish communities. However, the most tragic moment for Asman was the news of the death of his adopted son, Matityahu (Anton) Samborsky, who perished on the front lines. This example of heroism and tragedy reminds us that all Ukrainians, regardless of their ethnicity, have become part of this great struggle.
3. Ukraine’s Resilience: How the Nation Withstood Terrible Trials
Three years of war is a story of fear, pain, and loss, but it is also a story of unyielding will. Ukrainians did not give up or yield in the face of overwhelming aggression. We remember how peaceful citizens took to the barricades, how volunteers distributed food and medicine at the front lines, and how thousands of Ukrainians rushed into battle for their native land.
Under bombings and artillery strikes, Ukrainians continued to build, rebuild, learn, and work. Women, children, and the elderly—no one was left aside. This is the strength of Ukraine: a people who, having endured the horrors of war, continue to live and fight despite all hardships.
4. The Support of the People of Israel and Israeli Volunteers: Unity and Solidarity
From the very beginning of the war, the people of Israel and Israeli volunteers actively supported Ukraine. Israelis helped deliver humanitarian aid, medications, and provided medical assistance. Many Israeli organizations organized fundraisers and collected essential goods to support Ukrainians, while Israelis also contributed to medical and volunteer initiatives aimed at assisting Ukrainians.
Israel also took in thousands of refugees, providing them shelter and necessary aid. Volunteers from Israel participated in restoring damaged infrastructure and in training for medical services.
The unity and solidarity between Israelis and Ukrainians became a symbol of true friendship and mutual aid during the darkest times.
5. All of Ukraine Against Putin’s Aggression: Hatred for the Enemy
Over three years of war, Ukraine’s stance towards Russia has become unequivocal. Putin’s aggression cannot be justified under any circumstances. The killing of civilians, destruction, genocide, and deportations—all of these must be condemned and receive justice on the international stage. Ukraine and its people do not forgive what Russia has inflicted upon them.
At every step, in every battle, at every volunteer center, Ukrainians firmly and resolutely demonstrate that they will not forget the horror brought by Putin’s Russia. This is not just hostility; it is a hatred for those who came to destroy. And Ukraine, despite terrible losses, remains undefeated.
6. Wishes for the Future: Ukraine Will Win!
Today, on the third anniversary of the onset of the aggression, we say to Ukraine: you will win! The spirit you showed in the early days of the war has endured to this day. We believe that, despite all the terrible trials, Ukraine will recover, become even stronger, and the aggressor will be punished.
We, on the side of justice, wish Ukraine victory, the liberation of all occupied territories, and peace. May Ukraine remain free and independent, and may its people forever be a living symbol of resilience, courage, and love for their homeland.
Conclusion: Hope for Peace and Victory
On this memorable day, we remember all those who gave their lives for Ukraine. We are proud of every Ukrainian who fought, worked, and survived despite the terrible trials. Ukraine’s victory is near, and we believe that this day will surely come.
May this day become a symbol of our shared determination and confidence that evil cannot triumph over good.
Ukraine will win! Putinism and its aggression must be stopped.
