Syrian rebels have reached Aleppo. Syrian authorities closed the airport and all roads leading into the city after rebels said they had reached the center of Aleppo. This information is reported by Reuters with reference to three military sources.

Opposition militants led by the Islamist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham carried out a surprise operation in government-controlled cities and are back in Aleppo after a decade. Russia has promised to provide additional military assistance to Assad to fight the rebels, with new equipment due to arrive within 72 hours.
