U.S. Vice President James Vance expressed the opinion on the need to stop hostilities in Ukraine. This happened during his interview with the “Fox” channel.
Discussion on Arms Transfer
Vance confirmed that the White House is considering the possibility of transferring “Tomahawk” cruise missiles to Ukraine. The final decision on this matter, according to him, will be made by Donald Trump.
“The President will do what best serves the interests of the United States,” noted the Vice President.
Sabotage of Negotiations
The politician also stated that the Kremlin is stalling the negotiation process to end the conflict. In the past two weeks, Russia has refused both bilateral meetings with Ukraine and trilateral negotiations involving the U.S.
Appeal to the Russian Side
Vance made an urgent appeal to the Russians to cease hostilities. “It’s time for the Russians to wake up. How many more will they kill for a negligible gain on the ground — if there is any at all?” he questioned, expressing hope that there will not be many more casualties.
Potential of “Tomahawks”
Previously, the press reported that the American side is discussing this transfer. However, until now, the White House has not commented on the situation. “Tomahawk” is a family of multi-purpose subsonic cruise missiles with a long range.
Features and Characteristics
These munitions are capable of flying at low altitudes, avoiding detection from the ground. Possible warhead options even include cluster ones.
Launch and Purpose
Initially, the “Tomahawk” was developed as a sea-based missile. Currently, there are also ground launchers for its launch, which expands its use in combat operations.
