Israeli army fighters are conducting an operation in the Jenin and Tulkarm areas to combat Iranian terrorist infrastructure.
On Wednesday, August 28, 2024, the Israeli leadership decided to launch a counter-terrorism operation in the West Bank of the Jordan River, including the aforementioned areas, which are partially controlled by Palestine, an ally of Iran.
The information was conveyed by Foreign Minister Israel Katz. The IDF is targeting Iranian terrorist infrastructure in the areas where, according to Israeli authorities, Iran has created a terrorist front and is supplying militants via Jordan.
“We must deal with this threat in the same way as we dealt with the terrorist infrastructure in Gaza, including the temporary evacuation of civilians,” Katz stressed.
The publication also reports that the counter-terrorist operation in the West Bank of the Jordan River will continue for several days. Several days ago, the Israeli military carried out preventive strikes on 10 Hezbollah militant sites in southern Lebanon. Earlier, the Israeli military killed Hezbollah rocket unit commander Ali Hussein.
