Muta Egede, prime minister of the autonomous region of Greenland, said Greenland cannot be sold. His words were quoted by international agencies on December 24.

“Greenland is ours. We are not for sale and will never be for sale. We must not lose our long struggle for freedom,” Yegede said.

The Danish Foreign Ministry did not comment on Trump's statement. It is also noted that Trump previously expressed a desire to buy Greenland during his previous presidential term.
