On November 22, 2024, a new international educational course “Between Sophia and Bezalel” starts in Ukraine.
This project brings together the efforts of: the Embassy of the State of Israel in Ukraine, the Israeli Cultural Center “NATIV”, the Honorary Consulate of the State of Israel in the Western Region of Ukraine, the National Historical and Cultural Reserve “Babin Yar”, the Museum of the History of the City of Kyiv, the Avant-Garde Museum, the Center for Research in History and Culture Eastern European Jewry NaUKMA.
The purpose of the course is to explore the rich Jewish culture of the 20th century and strengthen ties between the two peoples. The project organizers offer a unique training format, including lectures, museum tours and the opportunity to create your own art project.
Project goals and objectives
The course is aimed at achieving several goals at once:
- Immersion in Jewish culture of the 20th century. Participants will be able to explore the development of Jewish art and philosophy through the prism of history and various art forms.
- Cultural diplomacy. The course creates bridges between the two countries, strengthening interaction between Ukraine and Israel.
- Practical experience. Participants will create their own cultural project, which will be the result of their training.
Course Features
The program lasts three months and includes 50 meetings offline and online. Participants are expected:
- Lectures from experts from Ukraine and Israel. Speakers include leading historians, art critics and collectors.
- Visiting museums. Excursions to key cultural sites in Ukraine (offline) and Israel (online).
- Working with art objects. Introduction to masterpieces of art and their significance in historical context.
The outcome of the course will be the creation of a unique cultural project that will reflect the knowledge acquired by the participants.
Who can participate?
The course is open to young people from 20 to 40 years old whose activities are related to or are interested in the following areas:
- Arts and Culture;
- Philosophy;
- Story;
- Journalism.
To participate, you must register by filling out a form and undergo an interview.
Participation in the project is completely free.
