NAnews – Nikk.Agency Israel News

On March 25, 2026, the Israeli initiative Israeli Friends of Ukraine reported the result of the humanitarian collection: thanks to the support of donors, it was possible to deliver 17 generators to Kherson. This is not a one-time action that arose at the last moment, but a continuation of a campaign that NANews had already written about earlier, when the organization, together with partners, launched an urgent collection for generators and “Points of Invincibility” for Ukraine.

For the Israeli audience, this story is important not only as a charitable report. It shows that aid from Israel does not dissolve into abstract slogans and does not end with beautiful words on social networks. In this case, we are talking about a very specific result: the equipment reached the city, which, after de-occupation, lives under constant Russian shelling, drone strikes, and pressure on critical infrastructure.

.......

From urgent collection to real delivery

Earlier, NANews reported on the campaign Ukraine Freezes — Save with Heat!, which the initiative “Israeli Friends of Ukraine” conducted with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Israel. The published material directly mentioned the urgent collection for the creation of “Points of Invincibility” — places where people can warm up, charge phones, get hot water, and wait out the difficult hours of outages. At that time, the organizers explained that the blow to energy in winter is no longer just a military tactic, but pressure on the basic conditions of survival.

According to the same publication, one such aid kit was assessed as a quite down-to-earth set: a generator with a capacity of 6–7 kW, a heat gun, a water heater, extension cords, and a supply of fuel, tea, and food. That is, it was not about a symbolic action “for show,” but about a practical model of survival for people in conditions of cold, darkness, and destroyed infrastructure.

Now this logic has continued in the March report. The organization reported that 17 generators were delivered to Kherson. This is especially important because Kherson today is not just a frontline city, but an example of how, after liberation, the territory continues to live under constant fire pressure. And when the utility system, hospital, water utility, or emergency services operate under such conditions, the generator becomes not an “additional option,” but part of the city’s basic resilience.

Where this aid went in Kherson

According to the description published by the organization, the generators were sent where power outages hit the city’s life the hardest. Among the recipients are the Kherson City Clinical Hospital named after O. S. Luchansky, the city water utility, the enterprise “Khersonmisksvitlo,” as well as utility services that remove garbage, clean up the aftermath of shelling, and maintain the city’s basic life support.

This is an important moment.

Usually, in the news, the word “generator” sounds too generalized, as if it is just about equipment. In practice, however, one generator is the ability not to stop the work of doctors during shelling. It is the preservation of water supply and sewage. It is the repair of substations, the operation of outdoor lighting, the provision of “Points of Invincibility.” It is even the removal of construction debris after strikes, without which the city quickly begins to collapse not only from missiles but also from accumulated chaos.

That is why such assistance seems especially significant for Israelis. Israel understands well what it is like to live under alarms, strikes, and an overloaded civilian infrastructure. But the Ukrainian experience, especially in cities like Kherson, shows another level of reality: when the utility machine must continue to work literally under fire. And in this sense, the story with 17 generators is not about charity in an abstract form. It’s about the resilience of peaceful life where it is being systematically broken.

Why this story is important specifically for Israel

In January, when the campaign was just being launched, NANews — Israel News | Nikk.Agency already wrote that the meaning of such initiatives is not only in raising money but also in Israeli public participation. The organizers asked not just to donate, but to spread the information so that as many people in Israel as possible could see how exactly they can help. And the March result shows that this model worked: the path from call to action to the real delivery of aid was completed.

How the collection was closed and what amount was collected

It is also important to record another key stage of this campaign. If the collection for generators was announced on January 22, 2026, then already on March 12 the initiative announced its final closure. By the end of January and February, the organizers managed to collect 241,838 shekels — and this is no longer just an intermediate figure, but a large-scale result of the joint work of the Ukrainian community, Israeli friends of Ukraine, partners, businesses, and dozens of caring people.

This money went to purchase generators for Ukraine — the very ones that help endure energy strikes, power outages, and constant shelling. At the same time, the organizers separately emphasized: behind the dry sum is not only equipment but also a living human response. One of the strongest confirmations of this was the drawings and photographs they received from children from Kyiv boarding school No. 7 on Akademika Zabolotnoho Street, 146. The children thanked for the help, thanks to which the school could continue to operate even during power outages.

The initiative also expressed special gratitude to the collection partners. Among them are MAK_UA / Ukrainian Amateur Art Forge in Israel (3,000 ₪), the Asian cuisine restaurant Wasabi Sushi Karmiel (955 ₪), the project SHO? – Ukrainian Traditional Food (2,000 ₪), Zemlyachestvo (19,270 ₪), Independent Ukrainian Parties in Israel (1,880 ₪), the restaurant Little Prague TLV (1,020 ₪), as well as Bell.seller and Lords of the Sound (2,500 ₪). Against the backdrop of war, such figures are important not in themselves, but as proof that even at a distance, you can stay close to those who need help the most.

How aid was distributed in stages: from Kyiv to new applications and further to Kherson

Now it is possible to more accurately show the chronology of this collection. The campaign for generators Israeli Friends of Ukraine was announced on January 22, 2026, and already at the beginning of February, the organization began publishing the first reports on specific deliveries. This is an important detail: the money did not lie idle until the final closure but gradually turned into equipment for those points where the situation was most urgent.

Already on February 3, the initiative reported the delivery of two first generators of 7 kW in Kyiv. One was sent to Rognedinskaya Street, 4B — to the territorial center of social services, the second — to the Center for Social Services on A. Filatov Lane, 3/1. Both institutions worked with the elderly, people with disabilities, displaced persons, and families in difficult circumstances. Their “Points of Invincibility” continued to receive people around the clock, and after the massive attack on January 9, the load on such centers only increased.

Already the next day, February 4, the organization reported that the third generator of 7 kW arrived at another Kyiv “Point of Invincibility” — at Yulia Zdanovska Street, 52-a, in the Holosiivskyi district. There, children’s clubs operated, and without backup power, it was impossible to stay in cold classrooms. For children, this meant not just inconvenience, but the loss of a warm, lit, and relatively safe space at a time when the situation at home for many families remained difficult.

Further, the aid began to cover not only requests for generators but also related urgent needs. On February 10, the organization’s report included information about supporting the house “Happy Childhood” in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv on Shevchenko Street, 16. After the last massive shelling, the Darnytska CHP was damaged, the district was left without heat, and the children had to temporarily leave the premises. Thanks to donations, inverter batteries were delivered there, which helped restore heating and return the children to a more familiar and safe space.

The next stage was recorded on February 21. Then Israeli Friends of Ukraine reported that generators had already been shipped for several capital educational institutions. Among them was specialized school No. 7 on Zabolotnoho Street, 146, which received a 14 kW generator, as well as Lyceum No. 37 on Antonovycha Street, 130/17 and Gymnasium No. 122 on Kitaivska Street, 22, where a 7 kW generator was delivered. For schools, this meant the ability to maintain heat, hot meals, and the operation of critical infrastructure even during outages.

After this, it became clear that the collection was going beyond a few individual deliveries and turning into a full-fledged distributed campaign. On March 12, the organization announced the final closure of the January-February collection and reported that the total amount reached 241,838 shekels. At the same time, the organizers separately emphasized: purchases continue, and reports will continue to be released. Behind this amount were not only donations from private individuals but also the contribution of partners, businesses, and the Ukrainian community in Israel.

.......

Two days later, on March 14, the initiative separately thanked the participants of the concert tour Lords of the Sound in Israel and the project Bell.seller. During the tour, concert guests could purchase souvenirs and jewelry created by Ukrainian craftsmen, and part of the proceeds from these sales was directed specifically to the current collection for generators for Kyiv’s Points of Invincibility. This is a good example of how humanitarian aid was formed not only through direct transfers but also through cultural and public events of Ukrainians in Israel.

Then followed another targeted report. On March 16, the organization reported the delivery of a generator to the X-Park Point of Invincibility in the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv, on the territory of Trukhaniv Island. This place is important not only as a point of assistance during outages but also as a space where children and teenagers come — to train, prepare for sports competitions, and simply maintain a sense of normal life. The generator allowed maintaining light, communication, and in winter — heat there.

And only after this entire chain of deliveries and intermediate solutions does the March report on Kherson appear, where it is already about 17 generators for the hospital, water utility, municipal enterprises, and services that operate under constant shelling.

For Ukrainians in Israel and for Israelis who follow Russia’s war against Ukraine, this is also an important moral signal. Against the backdrop of fatigue, an overloaded news field, and the feeling that an individual can no longer influence much, such results return the sense of the scale of personal participation. Not in theory. Not someday later. But in the form of specific equipment that is already in Kherson and helps keep the city afloat.

When the report is more important than loud words

There is another reason why this post from March 25 should be highlighted separately. In the information flow, too many campaigns end with a beautiful start and disappear without a clear result. Here we see a different picture: first, there was a public call for an urgent collection for generators and “Points of Invincibility,” then — a report on the delivered aid. Such a sequence is important in itself because it strengthens trust in civil initiatives and shows that horizontal connections between Israel and Ukraine continue to work even in the conditions of a protracted war.

That is why the story with 17 generators for Kherson goes beyond an ordinary post on social networks. It is an example of how Israeli support turns into a real resource for a Ukrainian city that survives daily under attacks. And this means that it is not just about helping Ukraine in general, but about helping people, hospitals, the water utility, municipal services, and all that fragile framework of life that Russia is trying to systematically and long-term destroy.
