Who is on top — women or men?
In Ukraine, the name “Khto Zverhu?” is well known to viewers of the eponymous TV show. In it, women’s and men’s teams compete in erudition, quick wit, reaction speed, and the ability to handle unexpected tasks.
On October 23, 2026, a similar competition will be held in Haifa.
“Khto Zverhu-2: Ladies vs Gentlemen” is the name of the new evening from Vechornytsi.il. Translated from Ukrainian — “Who is on top: ladies against gentlemen.”

The organizers promise blitz polls, intellectual contests, humorous tasks, and unexpected twists. The event itself is conducted in Ukrainian.
This is already the second show of this format that the team offers to the Israeli public. This time, the entertainment program was decided to be combined with a charity collection.
Charity fair and intellectual game
The meeting will take place on Friday, October 23, at the Diana Hotel in the center of Haifa.
At 16:00 the doors will open and the charity fair will begin. Organizers invite guests to bring three items that can be sold for the benefit of the collection, as well as, if possible, some sweets.
At 16:30 the intellectual show will start. Women’s and men’s teams will compete in logic, erudition, and resourcefulness.
Throughout the evening, the hotel bar will be open with drinks and snacks.
The entrance is defined by the organizers as a feasible charitable donation. The first 20 tickets are offered for 80 shekels. Separate conditions are provided for newcomers, which need to be clarified during registration.
Children under 10 years old can attend for free.
The collected funds, according to the announcement, are intended for charitable initiatives, including the current collection of the organizers. The specific recipient of the aid and the necessary amount are not specified in the published announcement.
Vechornytsi.il: Ukrainian cultural events in Israel
The name Vechornytsi.il comes from the Ukrainian word “вечорниці” — traditional evening gatherings where people communicated, sang, played, danced, and spent time together.
Today, the team uses this name to organize cultural and entertainment events in Israel related to the Ukrainian language and culture.
The project already has experience in organizing events in Haifa.
In 2025, Vechornytsi.il prepared the evening “Den Zalezhnosti,” dedicated to Ukraine’s Independence Day. Initially, it was planned for August 22, then postponed to September 19. The program also included an intellectual game in the format of “Khto Zverhu.”
The previous event was covered by NANews in the publication “Den Zalezhnosti” in Haifa.
The new evening continues the familiar theme of intellectual entertainment for the organizers, but now a noticeable place in the program is occupied by a charity fair.
Why such events find their audience in Israel
In Haifa and the neighboring cities of Krayot, there are many people from Ukraine. Krayot is a common name in Israel for a group of cities near Haifa, including Kiryat Yam, Kiryat Motzkin, and Kiryat Bialik.
At the same time, the audience of Ukrainian-language cultural events is not necessarily limited to people who came directly from Ukraine. In Israel, there are families with Ukrainian roots, repatriates of different generations, as well as Israelis interested in Ukrainian culture and language.
That is why it is important to know in advance in which language the program is conducted. For “Khto Zverhu-2,” the organizers chose Ukrainian. Participation in such an intellectual competition implies understanding the questions, jokes, and tasks of the hosts.
For Israel, such events have become another format of local cultural life. They allow for concerts, holidays, and meetings in languages that are spoken in the families of repatriates and other residents of the country.
NANews — News of Israel | Nikk.Agency pays attention to such initiatives because cultural ties between Israel and Ukraine develop not only through official institutions but also thanks to independent organizers working directly with their audience.
