In Israel, at the end of November, it will become slightly colder — but only in the coziest sense.
November 17, 2025, at the Enis Auditorium Cultural Center there will be a screening of the Ukrainian holiday comedy “Guardians of Christmas” — and it will turn into a real family winter festival.
November 23, 2025, 18:00 – 20:30 – HOT Cinema, Hall 5, Simcha Golan Road 54, Grand Canyon, Haifa
November 25, 2025, 18:00 – 20:30 – HOT Cinema, Hall 2, HaGdud HaIvri 6, Sea Mall, Ashdod.
This is not just a movie, but an event for which people bring blankets, glowing bracelets for children, and a camera for a family photo “in front of the Christmas tree.”
First, you are greeted by characters, photo zones, music, and games, and only then the lights go out — and the story begins, in which the legends of winter lead their small, somewhat funny, and very warm battle for children’s belief in miracles.
🎬 About the film
The main character is a girl named Vera. She makes a wish that accidentally entangles three winter wizards:
- Santa Claus,
- the ancient Spirit of Winter (the very image many know as “Father Frost”),
- Saint Nicholas.
Each wants to prove that he is the main one. They compete, argue, and rush to fulfill the wish first…
But one accidental action changes everything — and instead of New Year’s magic, melancholy hangs over the city.
To bring the holiday back to the people, the heroes have to not only remember the miracles but also unite.
Here is kind humor, light nostalgia, and that moment when adults freeze — because the film reminded them where the real miracles are hidden.
Hint: they are not in the tinsel.
🎄 Why this event is important in Israel
Ukrainian families here have already learned to celebrate in a new way — between two worlds, with anxieties and hope.
And such events are not just a movie screening.
This is:
- a space where the native language is heard;
- where children recognize their winter heroes, not just foreign ones;
- where it is truly warm, not “by climate.”
In Tel Aviv, this evening will be a piece of winter Lviv and Kyiv, Donetsk and Simferopol — with children’s laughter, the smell of tangerines, and that very feeling of “home exists, even if it’s far away.”
🎬 About the film and its creation
“Guardians of Christmas” is a new Ukrainian full-length family film, created by the media group 1+1 media in collaboration with United Content Hub. It is one of the key film premieres of the Ukrainian film industry for the winter season of 2025, on which the industry places great hopes.
The premiere in wide Ukrainian distribution is scheduled for December 4, 2025, but special screenings will start in November.
The project was conceived as a modern New Year’s film that combines Ukrainian traditions, the atmosphere of winter holidays, and the current emotional context — a time when Ukrainian families are looking for light, support, and warm stories.
🎥 How the film was created
Work on the project began during the period when Ukraine officially established December 25 as the official Christmas day, and the industry spoke about the need to update holiday cinema. It was then that the team of screenwriters and producers proposed the idea to create a large family Christmas film of Ukrainian production.
Preparation took several months: they searched for a visual style, New Year’s locations, costume solutions, and actors capable of conveying the warmth and sincerity of holiday cinema.
Filming started in spring 2025 and took place in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Sets were built for the film, work was done in pavilions and on natural winter locations, despite the warm season. The team actively used modern lighting equipment, special effects, and festive artistic objects to create the visual atmosphere of winter.
The project brought together a strong team:
- Director: Oleksandr Kirienko
- Producers: Tetiana Shulyka, Anna Honchar
- Co-producers: Oleksii Lymarenko, Andrii Nohin
- Screenwriting team: Tetiana Shulyka, Tamara Hrantovska, and a team of authors
The cast included well-known Ukrainian theater and film artists, among them:
Stanislav Boklan, Mykhailo Kukuiuk, Ivan Blyndar, Kateryna Kuznetsova, Roman Lutskyi, Arina Trehub.
🌟 Why this film is important
The project appeared at a difficult time when Ukraine’s cultural industry is being rebuilt. The creators set themselves the goal of returning to viewers the feeling of celebration, family closeness, and warmth, to unite generations and offer quality Ukrainian holiday cinema worthy of international screening.
The film is released in the winter holiday season of 2025 and has already become a notable event in Ukrainian cinema, receiving attention from the press and the film community.
👨👩👧 Who are the festival partners
This event is made by people who have been supporting Ukrainian culture in Israel for years:

A cultural-media community in Israel: organizes offline meetings, interviews, and exhibition/public projects about people and culture.
✨ What you need to know before going
- children can wear their festive sweaters, glowing headbands, and anything shiny — the atmosphere will only benefit;
- on-site — photo zones and activities, so it’s better to arrive early;
- the mood — like in childhood when you still believe that winter smells of miracles.
Sometimes that’s enough to feel at home.
Even in Tel Aviv, where there are palm trees, warm November, and the sea — instead of snow.
