There is doubt that Rujm al-Khiri (Israel, northeast of Kinneret) is an ancient “astronomical observatory”.

Called the “Wheel of Spirits” or the Levantine Stonegenge, this megalithic monument has yet to reveal its true purpose.
Scientists from Tel Aviv University and Ben-Gurion University of the Negev found that its location has changed significantly over the past 5 thousand years. The tectonic blocks of northern Israel are moving in an elliptical path, causing the Spirit Wheel to shift by about 40 meters.
Integrated geophysical analysis showed that Rujm al-Khiri rotated counterclockwise, changing its initial position by tens of meters. Researchers claim that the radial walls and entrances of this structure were not aligned with celestial bodies in ancient times, as previously believed. This raised doubts about its astronomical purpose.
Suggestions that the Spirit Wheel was used as an astronomical observatory are now being questioned. Instead, some archaeologists believe that it may have been a defensive fort, while others believe that an important leader or politician may have been buried here. However, due to the lack of artifacts within the structure itself, researchers are finding it difficult to unravel its secrets.
Interestingly, the article also mentions other mysteries of historical monuments, such as Stonegenge. It should be noted that the “Wheel of Spirits” continues to remain one of the mysterious objects of archeology, arousing the interest of scientists and researchers.
