The reason behind Turkish President Erdogan's statement about a possible invasion of Israel is not related to anti-Semitic and anti-Western views.

Erdogan made such a threat, as the analyst noted, due to his and his party's weak positions and loss of political influence. Last year, Erdogan almost won the presidential elections, and the following year, his party lost the local elections. In this regard, according to Kovalenko, Erdogan and his party are using populism and militancy to maintain popular support.
Erdogan is thus trying to strengthen his position by using threats of decisive action, particularly operations in Gaza. In a situation where Turkey’s economy depends on exports to the West, decisive statements and actions may be linked to the desire to keep voters’ attention. The IDF operation against Hezbollah creates even more tension, and Erdogan is using it for his populist aggressiveness.
According to Erdogan's statement on July 28, Turkey is ready to invade Israel, similar to what it did in Karabakh and Libya. Erdogan calls for strong steps and emphasizes that nothing is impossible.
