President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on October 9, 2025, welcomed the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

“It is important that the prospect of establishing a lasting peace in the Middle East is becoming closer to reality. This matters not only for one region but for the entire world. An agreement is being advanced that can help everyone. If violence and wars cease in at least one part of the world — global security increases for all.

We are grateful to President Trump @POTUS and the United States for their leadership, as well as to every country and every leader who helps. We hope that the Israeli hostages, held for more than two years, will be released, and that there will be no more casualties in Gaza. And we hope that global efforts will be just as sufficient to achieve true peace for our country and our region.

Russia remains the largest source of war and terror in the world today, and we expect fair and firm international pressure on this aggressor to ensure lasting peace and guaranteed security.”
