President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with the Crown Prince of Iran in exile Reza Pahlavi in Munich. During the conversation, the parties discussed the situation in Iran, strengthening sanctions against dictatorial regimes, and Tehran’s cooperation with Russia.
The meeting was reported on the Official Channel of President Volodymyr Zelensky. The message noted that Ukraine supports the Iranian people in their struggle for the future and sympathizes with all the victims of the Iranian regime.
“Ukraine supports the Iranian people in their struggle for their future,” the statement said.
Position of the parties
During the conversation, the parties paid attention to the situation inside Iran and the areas in which the citizens of the country need support. They separately discussed the importance of strengthening sanctions against the Iranian regime and other dictatorial regimes.
Zelensky thanked the prince for supporting Ukraine’s territorial integrity. “Thank you to the Prince of Iran for supporting Ukraine’s territorial integrity. It is important to make every effort to protect human lives. Ukraine is ready to help from its side,” he said.
Cooperation with the Russian Federation
The parties condemned the cooperation between Russia and Iran. In particular, they discussed the supply of Shahed-type drones by the Iranian regime to Russia for attacks on Ukrainian cities, as well as the transfer of licenses for their production.
The message emphasized that such a partnership poses a real threat not only to Ukraine but also to the entire region. The discussion took place in Munich as part of international events where the Ukrainian side continues negotiations on security and sanctions policy.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, Donald Trump has already threatened Iran with another military operation if Washington’s negotiations with Tehran on the nuclear program completely fail. The head of the White House threatened to send a second aircraft carrier to the Middle East as part of planning an armed invasion to overthrow the ayatollahs’ regime.
In turn, Israel warned the United States of its readiness to act independently if Iran crosses the “red line” set by Tel Aviv – referring to possible strikes on key missile production facilities.
