One of the brightest representatives of the modern Ukrainian stand-up scene is coming to Israel — Yulia Onishchenko, a comedian from Odessa who lives and performs in Berlin and sells out shows all over Europe. Her new solo program “Kinchai” is an honest, daring, and very frank stand-up built on personal stories, observations, pain, self-irony, and bold topics that people usually shy away from.
Now this stand-up can be seen in two cities in Israel — Haifa and Tel Aviv / Jaffa.

Who is Yulia Onishchenko
Yulia Onishchenko is a Ukrainian stand-up comedian from Odessa who is building her career in Berlin and actively touring Europe and the USA.
Her style is a bold monologue about female sexuality, growing up, the body, relationships, and the absurdity of today’s life. She speaks with sharp phrases but with human warmth; she laughs at herself more than at anyone else and creates an atmosphere where the audience both laughs and recognizes themselves in every phrase.
Her show in Berlin has already sold out twice. Yulia jokes that her tour “will only end after she performs on all continents — if the tectonic plates don’t manage to reshape everything again.”

brings artists from Ukraine, Europe, and the local scene;
supports cultural initiatives, creates intimate events with live human contact;

Why it matters
The Ukrainian cultural scene in Israel is growing and becoming more diverse. Stand-up is one of the most lively genres, allowing complex topics to be discussed in simple language.
Yulia Onishchenko is exactly the voice many have been missing: honest, sharp, bold, and very funny.
For those who miss Ukrainian humor, live words, and strong comedic energy, this tour will be an important event of the fall.
