Ukrainian poetry resonates in different corners of the world, preserving a deep connection with Ukraine.
On March 6, 2025, at Nothing: place without commitment, a modern Ukrainian poetry evening will take place. This event brings together those who were born in Ukraine as well as repatriates who continue to create and seek inspiration in Israel. For many poets, words have become a way to reflect on themselves, express emotions, and maintain their connection with Ukraine.
The organizers emphasize:
«We have dissolved into the world like ink in seawater. Our voices are echoes bouncing off foreign walls, losing familiar intonations. And yet, we exist. We write. We speak.»
This evening will be a space where words connect the past and the future, creating an atmosphere for dialogue and reflection.
What Awaits Guests
- Readings of original poetry
- The intimate atmosphere of an evening in Old Jaffa
- An opportunity to meet poets and discover their work
- Samizdat books and exclusive poetry collections
«Come. We will talk, listen, drink, remain silent. And perhaps, in words, we will find something more than just lines.»
Poetry, a bar, samizdat, and a small gathering—the perfect setting for this evening.
Poetry as the Voice of Time
Poetry is a way to reflect on the past, envision the future, and express the present.
The event organizers, Nothing: place without commitment and Yurko Muraviov, have brought together poets originally from Ukraine as well as repatriates who have found their place in Israel but continue to write in their native language. Their poetry reflects lived experiences, deep emotions, and perspectives on the world.
“Sometimes it seems that words get lost in the noise, but poetry always finds its way to the heart. This evening is a chance to hear what usually remains between the lines.”
