Turkish Defense Minister Yashar Güler stressed the importance of having sufficient ammunition and modern military equipment to ensure combat effectiveness. The experience of the Ukrainian war confirms this need.
Currently, 30 countries cannot meet Ukraine's needs for ammunition. Guler noted that even Finland and Norway, which previously considered themselves safe from military conflicts, are forced to increase defense spending.
At the upcoming NATO meeting, Türkiye will propose to discuss the fight against terrorism, the war in Ukraine and the war in Gaza.
Guler expressed his opinion that it is necessary to provide the Ukrainian army with sufficient ammunition and weapons to successfully carry out combat missions. Increasing defense spending has become a necessity for many countries, including those that previously considered themselves neutral. Important issues related to security and the fight against terrorism are expected to be discussed at the meeting.
