Turkey's defense minister warned of a “possible Israeli attack on their country”

Turkish Defense Minister Yashar Güler expressed the belief that Israel is “an aggressive state that can attack Turkey at any time.” Earlier, President Erdogan also said that “if Israel does not stop its actions in Gaza, it will spread to Turkey.”

During a televised speech, Güler was asked about this, to which he replied: “Our president warned about such a danger. Would he have been so decisive if he had not seen the threat from Israel?”

The minister noted that historically it has already happened that large-scale wars began with minor incidents. He emphasized that the government is responsible to the Turkish Republic and the Turkish people, and therefore must ensure the defense of the country.
