Trump: “Ukraine is no longer waging war at our expense”

US President Donald Trump stated at today’s administration meeting that financial expenses for military actions in Ukraine will no longer be covered by the American budget. He emphasized that NATO countries now bear the primary responsibility for paying for weapons and other military inventory supplied to Ukraine, while the United States will focus on fulfilling defense orders.

Trump added that the US continues to independently sell missiles and military equipment to NATO countries with which it has established close ties.

“We are no longer involved in financing Ukraine, but we are actively working on ending the war,” the president noted.

According to him, the American defense industry is ready to double and triple production volumes, as US products are considered the best in the world, providing Europeans with virtually the only solution in this area.

Additionally, it should be noted that the concept of the current American administration emphasizes that the weakening of Russia and the successes of Ukrainian troops should primarily concern European countries, for whom the threat from the Kremlin is relevant and close.

In the context of Trump’s policy, the approach to NATO has changed: previously, the United States financed the organization, ensuring its combat readiness. This led to dissatisfaction from European governments and a negative reaction from the European establishment, which shapes public opinion and sets the tone in the press.
