Together with the entire warring country, Jewish educational institutions in Ukraine celebrated the First Bell holiday

The First Bell holiday, which is celebrated by Jewish communities in Ukraine, is especially significant in the context of the ongoing war. This holiday not only symbolizes the beginning of a new school year, but also becomes the embodiment of resilience, the preservation of traditions and the desire for a normal life in conditions when war destroys the usual way of life.

In Dnipro and Kamenskoye, children from Jewish communities, despite all the difficulties, gathered for ceremonial assemblies in their schools. A ceremonial ceremony was held at Levi-Yitzchak Schneerson Lyceum No. 144, which is an important educational center for the Jewish community of Dnipro, writes United Jewish Community of Ukraine.

The new students – first-graders and students of the Machon and Yeshiva – stepped into the world of knowledge for the first time, which is especially symbolic in the conditions of instability. “The first bell was both touching and solemn at the same time,” the participants note. The celebration began with the announcement of the names of the first-graders and graduates, after which everyone prayed together for peace in Ukraine. This act emphasizes the importance of spiritual support and hope in difficult times. It is important to note that such traditional events as watching a video of the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe and performing 12 Pesukim help to strengthen faith and maintain cultural traditions that the Jewish people have preserved for centuries.

Such events are important not only for the Jewish community, but for the entire Ukrainian people. They show that even in wartime, life goes on. Schools continue to open their doors, and children have the opportunity to learn, develop, and preserve their cultural identity. This demonstrates the strength of spirit and the ability to withstand difficulties, which is especially important for Ukrainians who continue to fight for their freedom and independence.

In Kamenskoye, in the Beit Menachem Lubavitch Lyceum of the Beit Baruch Charity Center, the First Bell ceremony was also held. Rabbi Levi Stambler of Kamenskoye and Rebbetzin Dina Stambler congratulated the students and wished them success in their studies. It is important that such events not only unite communities, but also give children a sense of security and stability, which is extremely necessary in the conditions of military conflict. The holiday ended with a flash mob and distribution of textbooks, which symbolizes the beginning of a new stage in the children's lives.

Preserving traditions, educating and raising a new generation in the spirit of respect for their roots and striving for peace are the values ​​that unite the Jewish and Ukrainian peoples in this difficult period for Ukraine.
