US Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas Greenfield said that any actions in the Gaza Strip that could lead to famine and forced displacement of civilians would have serious consequences under the law. She also noted that thanks to US intervention, Israel is taking measures to expand humanitarian assistance in the region.
Greenfield stressed the need for Israel to fulfill its commitments to expand humanitarian assistance in full and on time. Recently, an abandoned Kisufim checkpoint was opened to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, which caused discontent among the residents of the looted kibbutz.
These measures to provide humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip were made possible thanks to the efforts and intervention of the United States, which indicates serious attention on the part of the American administration to the circumstances in this region.
