Ukraine's bid to join NATO is not a topic “to be rushed,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in an interview with NBC News. He told the UN General Assembly in New York that the United States and other Western alliance countries do not want Ukraine to join.

Erdogan stressed that decisions on accession are taken carefully, taking into account the positions of other NATO members and discussing them at the negotiating table.
