On the night of December 13, 2024 in Tel Aviv there was a completely stupid provocationaimed, as the would-be organizers dream, at “undermining relations between Israel and Ukraine.”
Anti-Semitic organization “Compass”(by the way, he works in Russian – like “good Russians”) papered the building Ukrainian cultural center dozens of posters with offensive images – on postersplaced on the glass of the Ukrainian Cultural Center, depicts an Israeli soldier with bloody hands who looks in the mirror and sees the reflection of a Russian soldier.
The image is accompanied by an inscription in Ukrainian: “Russia is not the only occupier”.
At the same time, the posters themselves indicate the social media addresses of the provocateur organization, in which, by the way, it calls itself a “civil association for human rights in Palestine-Israel” and has absolutely nothing to do with Ukrainian diplomacy.
It is worth noting that the actions of Compass coincide with the biased rhetoric of the Kremlin, which strengthens suspicions about a possible connection with Russian structures.

This is not the first attempt to destabilize friendly relations between the two peoples, but what is really behind this action?
Thus, provocateurs from Compass are trying to compare the actions of the IDF in Gaza with Russian aggression in Ukraine, evoking associations with “genocide” and “occupation.”
Provocation has several goals (probably):
- Show a picture in the Russian press for Russian citizens of the “anti-Semitic” actions of Ukraine.
- Apply for deportation from Israel and deprivation of Israeli citizenship.
- It is no longer clear what else can be achieved in this way……
Who is the Compass organization?
Compass says it “defends human rights in Israel and Palestine.” In practice, it engages in anti-Israeli propaganda, opposing the “genocide in Gaza” and supporting conscripts who refuse to serve in the army.
Compass activities include:
- Propaganda campaigns on social networks.
- Publications containing accusations against Israel.
- Organizing rallies against the policies of the IDF.
It is worth noting that the actions of Compass coincide with the biased rhetoric of the Kremlin, which strengthens suspicions about a possible connection with Russian structures.
Reaction of Ukraine and Israel
The Ukrainian Embassy in Israel immediately responded to the provocation. The statement emphasizes that such actions are aimed at undermining friendship between the two peoples.

“Russian terrorists continue their aggression against Ukraine, not only killing Ukrainian civilians, but also resorting to pathetic provocations against Ukrainian cultural centers abroad.
Last night, the premises of our Cultural Center in Tel Aviv were covered with provocative leaflets. An investigation is currently underway and we hope that local law enforcement will find the vandals and take appropriate action against the violators.
One can only guess what anti-Semitic and Ukrainian-phobic provocateurs were trying to achieve with this trick. The Kremlin, losing its influence in the region, is trying to exert destructiveness in any way.
Ukraine has supported and supports Israel’s right to self-defense and the defense of its own population and territories, and Russian provocateurs will not be able to sow discord in friendly relations between the Ukrainian and Israeli peoples.“
The embassy contacted the police and also contacted the Shin Bet (General Security Service) and the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Israeli law enforcement agencies have already begun an investigation into the incident.

Russia seeks to discredit Ukraine in the international arena using the theme of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Actions such as stickers at the Ukrainian Cultural Center are part of a hybrid war.
