On January 3, the US State Department informed Congress of a planned $8 billion arms deal with Israel.
According to the Walla website, the deal includes the supply of ammunition for fighter jets, helicopters and artillery. The details of the deal remain shrouded in secrecy for now.
Sources familiar with the details say the weapons will be destined for Israeli security forces. The deal is part of the strategic partnership between the US and Israel. Information about the transaction has not yet been officially confirmed, but this notification is considered the first step towards its completion.
