On September 13, 2024, Al-Akhbar reported on the idea of deploying Arab forces along the Philadelphi Corridor as an alternative to the withdrawal of Israeli forces. However, Egypt did not express support for this idea, considering the possibility of concessions on the condition of a ceasefire.
While Egypt refused the UAE's request to arrange for the evacuation of 100 wounded through the Kerem Shalom crossing, fearing that it could become a replacement for the closed Rafah crossing, the UAE eventually turned to Israel and was able to evacuate the wounded with the help of the Israelis and the UN.
Thus, the choice of alternative mechanisms for resolving the conflict in the region remains a pressing issue requiring further discussions and negotiations.
