The IDF press service reported a significant decrease in the number of conscripts ready to serve.
According to the IDF, only 25% of conscripts are now conscripts, while in the IDF airborne forces conscription remains at 90%. At the beginning of hostilities in Gaza, the conscription rate was even 130%, but after October 7, the number of those ready for service decreased.
According to ITV Channel 12, tens of thousands of military personnel spent more than 300 days in the army without leave. The IDF has asked the government to extend the minimum service period for men to 36 months, which would improve conditions for long-term conscripts. However, the Cabinet of Ministers has not yet made a decision on this request.
