The Israeli army confiscates Chinese cars from officers due to security concerns

The Israel Defense Forces have begun confiscating Chinese cars from their officers. The decision was made after identifying the threat of secret information leakage through the electronic systems of these vehicles.

Technological Vulnerability

Security services discovered that Chinese cars are equipped with systems that can transmit data to external servers. Cameras, microphones, and sensors are just part of the complex infrastructure causing concern.

A former senior officer noted: “Every smart car is a computer on wheels, posing a threat near sensitive sites.”

Gradual Confiscation

The confiscation process began with officers who have access to state secrets. It is planned to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2026.

About 700 vehicles, mainly CHERY brand, provided to officers with large families, will be subject to restrictions.

Israel’s decision reflects a global trend. The USA and the UK have already banned the use of Chinese cars in high-security zones.

Official Beijing expressed concern over Israel’s actions. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian emphasized that escalating the situation in the Middle East does not serve the interests of the parties.
