The IDF killed a Hamas terrorist who was also the mayor of a city in the Gaza Strip

The press service of the Israel Defense Forces reported the destruction of Hamas terrorist Imad Jarou, who was also the mayor of the city of Deir el-Balah. He was chairman of the emergency committee in the center of the Gaza Strip. The first information about his death appeared on Arab social networks in the first half of the day.

According to the report, Imad Jarou ruled the city on behalf of Hamas, liaising with the militant wing and assisting in the fight against Israeli troops. He was also responsible for the political activities of Hamas in the central part of the Gaza Strip and the work of the Islamist authorities in the region.

The army press service said Imad Jarou was killed in a building used by Hamas militants to plan operations against the Israelis. Before the strike, measures were taken to minimize civilian casualties, including reconnaissance and the use of precision-guided weapons.
