The press service of the Israel Defense Forces reported the elimination of an Islamic Jihad militant in the north of the Gaza Strip. The killed militant was the commander and deputy commander of a missile unit responsible for attacks on IDF forces. The operation was carried out by the Givati brigade combat group of the 162nd division headquarters.
According to Israeli intelligence services, militant Saad Zah Dakhnoun was spotted in the center of Jabaliya along with another terrorist trying to approach the positions of the Israeli military. During the operation, he was eliminated, the second militant surrendered. During his arrest, an explosive device was found in his possession.
A video of the operation, filmed by the IDF, was published on Sunday, January 5. It captured how militants, covered with blankets, tried to approach the military. The liquidation of Dahnun was a response to his participation in attacks on Israeli forces and one of the many provocations in the area.
