The ceiling of the Em Ha-Derech shopping center collapsed. The iron and wood structure caused panic among visitors, but fortunately no one was hurt. Emergency services were called to the scene and the shopping center was evacuated. The search for the cause of the incident is still ongoing, but no external provoking factors have been identified.
The Beit Yanai interchange, where the mall is located, is a busy area with high traffic volumes, especially on weekends. This contributed to the presence of customers in the center at the time of the accident. Despite the popularity of Em HaDerech, the accident led to an abrupt end to shopping and the evacuation of all those present after the ceiling collapsed.
Following the incident, the shopping center was closed to visitors, and rescuers began investigating the incident. There are no obvious sources that caused the ceiling to collapse, but work on the site continues. The only thing that was prevented was injuries among visitors, whose participation was limited to a slight fright.
