Syria accused Israel and Turkey of financing and supporting terrorist groups

Syria's permanent representative to the UN, Qusay al-Dahak, accused Israel and Turkey of being directly involved in the offensive by Islamist militants in Aleppo and other parts of the country. In his opinion, such a large-scale offensive could not begin without the consent and coordination of actions on the part of Israel and Turkey.

Qusay al-Dahak stressed the importance of the UN Security Council's strong condemnation of the militants' actions.

Representatives of the Russian Federation Nebenzya and Iran Iravani said that the Syrian militants are supported by the collective West.

American Ambassador to the UN Thomas Greenfield responded that Russia supports the world's sponsors of terrorism.
