Russian strike drones have once again attacked the Odessa region, as reported by the regional military administration. This time, the main strike hit Chornomorsk — the third-largest city in the region, located just a few kilometers from Odessa. As a result of the attack, four energy facilities were damaged, leaving more than 29,000 people without electricity.
During the raid, one person was injured. The Ukrainian Air Force confirmed that overnight, Russian forces deployed 142 drones, with 126 of them being shot down.
In recent weeks, mutual drone strikes on infrastructure, especially energy facilities, have intensified. As The New York Times wrote at the end of August, each side is likely trying to weaken the opponent amid the resumption of negotiations and demonstrate their readiness to continue the fight.
