Putin's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, told reporters that Russia's position in the Middle East has not weakened even after the fall of the Assad regime. He accused Israel of destabilization, condemning their strikes in the Golan Heights and buffer zone, which, in his opinion, do not contribute to stabilizing the situation in Syria.

Peskov said that Russia maintains dialogue with all countries in the region, but refused to comment on the number of Russian troops in Syria. He also avoided answering the question about the possible evacuation of the military, noting that it was too early to talk about this due to insufficient time having passed since the events.

The press secretary tried to avoid answering the question about the role of Russian troops in the support and fall of the Assad regime. He emphasized that Russia helped Syria in the fight against terrorists, having completed its mission, but further developments were already in the hands of the Syrian leadership.
