US Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed dissatisfaction with the role of the UN in world affairs. He stated this in an interview with Sky News on Saturday, February 14.
Rubio noted that the UN “has enormous potential to become an instrument of good in the world.” However, according to him, as of today, the organization “does not provide answers to the most pressing questions facing us” and “plays no role.”
He also reminded that the UN failed to resolve the issue of the war in Ukraine. “Only thanks to the States were the parties able to be brought to the negotiating table,” he added.
At the same time, Rubio acknowledged that the US also failed to resolve the situation with the war in Gaza. Nevertheless, he emphasized that it was the United States that “freed the captives from the barbarians,” referring to the release of Israelis captured by Hamas terrorists back in October 2023.
According to NANews β Israel News | Nikk.Agency, the position of the parties remains tough.
