Importance of the refugee program

This initiative not only helps people cope with the consequences of forced relocation, but also strengthens relations between the Jewish and Ukrainian peoples. As representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora note, Israel is becoming for many not only a temporary refuge, but also a new home.

“Ukraine and Israel today are connected by common pain. War, destruction, forced migration are what bring us together as peoples,” — said the Chief Rabbi of Ukraine Moshe Azman.

Why is this program important to the Jewish community?

Israel traditionally supports refugees and provides humanitarian assistance. Particular attention is paid to those who fled conflict zones.
