Terrorist organizations Hamas and Islamic Jihad have agreed to a week-long humanitarian truce in Gaza to carry out hundreds of thousands of polio vaccinations.
Earlier, Israel also accepted the US proposal to declare a ceasefire, which would only apply during daylight hours and would not extend to areas of military operation against terrorists.
However, Egyptian sources claim that the truce may last only 3-4 days, raising concerns about the duration of the humanitarian pause. Last week, the US Secretary of State called for a humanitarian truce precisely because of the need for polio vaccinations.
