Only one European politician called the Amsterdam pogrom a “pogrom”

The leader of the parliamentary faction of the Freedom Party in the Netherlands, Geert Wilders, reacted sharply to the brutal beating of Israelis in Amsterdam. He called for the attackers to be deported and accused the government of failing to ensure the safety of citizens. Wilders demanded the resignation of the mayor of Amsterdam and called for the protection of Jews from persecution.

The politician announced his arrival in Amsterdam to support the victims of the pogrom and expressed bewilderment at the absence of the council of ministers. He supports Israel and considers it the West's “first line of defense” against the Islamic threat, rejecting compromise in the Arab-Israeli conflict. European politicians, with the exception of the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, have not yet spoken out.

The Prime Minister of the Netherlands assured that the situation in Amsterdam is calm again, made a statement in support of Israel and promised to bring those responsible to justice. He has already communicated with the Israeli prime minister and supported measures to restore order after the events.
