On the evening of February 24, 2025, in Tel Aviv, on the third anniversary of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation’s army, the largest demonstration in support of Ukraine since 2022 took place.

Israelis, many of whom are immigrants from Ukraine, gathered on the city’s main street to express their support for the Ukrainian people in their fight against aggression.

The event, organized by the initiative group “Israel Friends of Ukraine”, attracted approximately 3300 people.

Carrying the flags of Ukraine and Israel, participants marched along Rothschild Boulevard to Gabim Square, where they lit candles and observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the wars in Ukraine and Israel. National anthems of both countries were played, emphasizing the importance of unity against a common enemy as well as the shared fate of the two peoples.

Anna Zharova, co-founder of the organization “Israel Friends of Ukraine”, stressed the importance of cohesion and solidarity between the peoples.

“Thousands of Israelis continue to take to the streets, provide humanitarian aid, donate funds, and actively help Ukraine. This demonstrates that the majority of Israelis support Ukraine in practice,” she noted in her speech.

“People are more important than politics. Yesterday’s event proved that once again. We have been reassured that the solidarity between the two peoples is far stronger than any political decision,” added Anna Zharova.

The demonstration in Tel Aviv was not only an expression of solidarity but also an important signal of the deep bond between the peoples of Israel and Ukraine. They express not only their personal support but also promote Ukrainian culture and provide humanitarian and financial assistance.

Throughout the war, Israeli volunteers and concerned citizens have provided aid to Ukraine. In turn, Ukrainians remember how Israelis supported them during difficult times.
