Prime Minister Netanyahu held consultations on the situation along the Lebanese border with Defense Minister Galant and IDF Chief of Staff HaLevi. A decision was made to gradually increase pressure on Hezbollah, but to delay the start of a full-scale war against the Shiite militants.

Among the possible options discussed was a large-scale operation against Hezbollah and the Lebanese regular army that supports the terrorists. However, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin conveyed to Galant that the US supports Israel but recommends refraining from intensive military action.
