The Prime Minister stressed that he and Trump support the positive changes that can happen for Israel in the areas of peace and opportunity.

Netanyahu also noted that he had a different relationship with outgoing President Biden and President-elect Trump. He often agrees with the second, while there were political disagreements with the first. Trump returns to the White House at a time when Israel is at war with Iran and its supporters on several fronts. Israeli authorities expect Trump will not change his position on Iran.

According to The Times of Israel, Trump expressed a desire to end the war in the Gaza Strip after winning the 2024 US presidential election. Analysts suggest that after winning the election, Trump may support strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities. The Wall Street Journal reports that after his inauguration in January 2025, Trump plans to tighten sanctions on Iran and limit the sale of Iranian oil.
