Neighbors and UN special envoy outraged by Israel's “occupation of Syria”

Middle Eastern countries condemned Israel for seizing the buffer zone in the Golan Heights and accused it of using Syria's instability to occupy new lands. The Saudi Foreign Ministry stressed that this is a violation of international law, and Jordan called the presence of the Israeli military an unacceptable escalation. Qatar and Egypt also condemned Israel's actions, considering them contrary to international law.

Syria's permanent representative to the UN sent a statement calling for an end to Israeli aggression in the Golan. The UN has confirmed the violation of the 1974 agreement with Syria by Israeli troops. The UN special envoy for Syria demanded a stop to the bombing and noted the diversity of rebel groups, not formally united, which did not foresee the fall of Assad.

Geir Pedersen also emphasized the importance of ending violence in the region and noted that no one foresaw the fall of the Assad regime. Thus, the conflict in the buffer zone in the Golan has caused a wide international outcry, demanding a peaceful solution and an end to the violation of international law.
