The majority of Israelis do not support Prime Minister Netanyahu and believe that it is more important to secure the release of the hostages than to remain in the Philadelphia corridor. According to a poll conducted by the Midgam Institute, 60% of the population believes that a deal for the release is more important than remaining in the corridor. Only 28% hold the opposite opinion, that it is more important to be there.
Half of respondents say Netanyahu's demand to remain in the Philadelphi Corridor is politically motivated. The poll also found that 61% of Israelis do not believe the government is making every effort to free Gaza abductees. Bennett enjoys greater public trust than Netanyahu and is ahead of him in terms of support.
Interestingly, 43% of respondents believe Netanyahu is the main culprit behind the October 7 failure, followed by other military and political figures. At the same time, trust in the prime minister remains significantly lower than in other candidates for his post.
