Iran is preparing a massive attack on Israel.

According to CNN, a White House official said Iran plans to launch ballistic missiles at Israel and the United States is actively preparing to defend itself.

The scale of the Iranian attack is predicted to be comparable to the one in April, when Iran responded to a strike on its diplomatic compound in Syria.

The US Embassy in Israel has declared a high alert level for its employees, instructing them to return home and be prepared to take shelter in bomb shelters, writes NYT.

This is the first such order since the Iranian air attack on Israel in April.

Iran will attack Israel in the next 12 hours, most likely after nightfall, The New York Times writes, citing an anonymous American official. The publication names Iran's possible targets: three Israeli Air Force bases and a military intelligence headquarters in northern Tel Aviv.

Today, October 1, 2024, the United States noticed Iran’s preparations for an immediate attack on Israel – in response to the liquidation of Hassan Nasrallah and the start of a ground operation in Lebanon.

According to the American assessment, the Iranian attack will be similar in scale to the missile and drone attack on Israel in April. It will likely be a combination strike, including ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones.

The flight time of a ballistic missile from Iran is 12 minutes, and that of a drone is 8-9 hours. The United States intends to do its best to help Israel repel the attack this time too.
