Iranian Majlis member Mohammad Qasim Osmani called during a parliamentary session for the assassination of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in retaliation for the assassination of Hamas Politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. He said: “We will not accept anything less than Netanyahu's death.” The member added that Iran will choose the moment to avenge Haniyeh's death.
This is not the first time Islamists have threatened to avenge the death of a Hamas leader. Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah said Israel “must expect brutal retribution.” He threatened Israelis: “You will laugh a little now, but soon you will cry a lot. You have no idea what red lines you have crossed.”
