London has issued an ultimatum to Israel: a complete ceasefire and access to Palestinian prisoners, otherwise arms supplies will cease.

London has said it will resume arms sales to Israel only after fighting stops and international organisations are given access to Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.

These conditions were announced by the head of the British Foreign Office, David Lammy, during a meeting with the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, Politico reports.

On September 2, Lammy announced the temporary suspension of 30 of the 350 licences to supply arms to Israel. The decision was prompted by the high risks of using these weapons, which, according to Lammy, could lead to serious violations of international humanitarian law.
